Meet Matt Bower, Plymouth 11+ Tutor
Matt Bower is a qualified primary school teacher (BA Hons, PGCE) who has taught since 2004 and runs M Bower Tutoring in Plymouth. He specialises in small-group 11+ preparation in maths and English for Devonport High School for Boys, Devonport High School for Girls and Plymouth High School for Girls.

Why I Tutor
I love seeing what clear, well-planned teaching does for a child’s confidence. My job is to give every pupil a strong foundation, a clear focus each week, and steady support all the way to exam day.
Because I still teach, I use what works in today’s classrooms and leave out methods that waste time in an exam.
Who I Work With
Most families are from Plymouth. Others travel from Tavistock, Ivybridge, the South Hams, Torpoint and Saltash.
I also support families further afield through my Year 4 and Year 6 home-learning programmes, and have tutored a pupil by distance learning while her family lived abroad.

How I Teach
